BAUMA is a tri-annual construction equipment fair held in Munich, Germany. This year, AITHON Robotics was a part of it in the Innovation Hall. With thousands of visitors and many connections made, this has greatly boosted our international visibility.

At the same time, we were able to endurance-test the system. 8 hours of constant movement, 5 days in a row.

When it comes to developing drones for complex environments, nothing can replace physical testing. To improve this, a new flightcage has been setup, with the support of PERI SE and Switzerland Innovation Park Zürich. This allows us to practice missions safely and under realistic scenarios. Located just 100m from our office space, and designed with modularity in mind, we can adapt the setting to demonstrate and test any relevant application.

Reliability is the key for performing efficient missions at hard-to-reach locations. To increase our capabilities, we have partnered up with Hoelzle AG, a trusted provider of electrical equipment to reduce our reliance on the poewr grid during drone missions. With their equipment, we can perform full workdays without needing polluting and cumbersome generators.

Our recent scientific paper “A perching and tilting aerial robot for precise and versatile power tool work on vertical walls” was awarded by OMRON Sinic X Corp at the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) in Detroit, Michigan.

IROS is one the worlds leading robotics conferences held annually, attracting thousands and pushing the frontiers of what robots can do.

From a selective competition, we’ve been selected as one of 5 startup projects that can benefit from a beautiful office space, courtesy of Büro Züri and Zürcher Kantonalbank. This is a big step, as the location fits perfectly what a young robotics team needs – space for prototyping and engineering, a warm environment for industry meetings, and a surrounding of entrepreneurial mindsets.

We’re looking forward to how this space will accelerate our developments and congratulate the other teams that we will share this space with!
